Traveling to Disney World is more than just a vacation; it’s a full experience. It’s all about the memories, the emotions, and, of course, the magic that comes with being on Disney property.
But what is that experience without actually staying on Disney property?
I know of many families that don’t want to stay at a Disney resort because it costs too much money, but many of them don’t realize all of the benefits that come with staying on property and how all those benefits make the price 100% worth it!
So without further ado, let’s talk about my top 12 reasons for why all my clients (and I) love staying on Disney property!
#1: You’ll Save Time
We have all heard the phrase “time is money,” and at Walt Disney World, this statement could not be truer.
Time is the most valuable resource you have at Walt Disney World. Staying at an off-site hotel may look like it saves you money, but it won’t help maximize your time in the park, which is why you are at Disney World after all.
Expect to spend at least 30 minutes of extra transit time to get to Disney World from outside property. In some cases, it can be longer. At the end of the day, it could take up to 30 minutes of waiting just to get into the parking lot, and that doesn’t even include the time you’ll have to wait outside before even entering the parks.
#2: Disney Hotels Are Top Quality
They are well maintained, renovated frequently, and are very clean and convenient. They are also themed and a destination in and of themselves.
Your family will have tons of fun just wandering around the resort, appreciating the amenities, and getting top-of-the-line service and access to parks.
#3: Book Fastpasses 60 Days In Advance
Fastpasses are included in the price of every theme park ticket; however, Disney resort guests can book fast passes 60 days in advance.
This gives them an advantage to getting on the most popular attractions, such as 7 Dwarves Mine Train, Flight of Passage, and Slinky Dog Dash. Many of those lines can be several hours long; however, with a FastPass, you will have little to no wait.
Many of these fast passes are gone well before the 30-day mark, so staying on property is really an advantage to getting on the most popular attractions.
#4: Free Transportation To And From The Airport To Your Disney Resort Hotel
The airport is about 30 minutes from Disney World, so this can save a family from renting a car or paying for a car service.
It also allows you to skip the hassle of baggage claim as both you and your baggage are transported.
This free transportation is included even after you get to your resort since you’ll be able to travel to and from the parks for free without worrying about parking or driving. So staying on property saves you extra time and money just from transportation alone!
#5: Extra Magic Hours = Extra Time at the Parks!
Disney resort guests are the only ones who have access to extra magic hours.
This means that you get access to one park each day either before or after the general public often for several hours. This allows Disney resort guests to enjoy the parks when they are less crowded.
This is especially great when you are there during the most crowded times of the year (Christmas and Easter). In just an extra hour in the morning or evening, you can squeeze in at least 3 rides, or 1 ride and a show, or whatever you want!
#6. True Disney Magic Within The Disney Bubble
I always tell my clients that they can stay at the Hilton anywhere. When you are staying at Disney, you want the full experience.
Disney does a wonderful job carrying their themes into the hotel rooms. With the added convenience and complimentary transportation to the parks, all of these details can make the vacation feel even more special, especially if it is your first time at Walt Disney World.
#7. Disney Service Is The Best In The Industry
The cast members at Disney are specially trained to provide the best service in the industry.
They truly go above and beyond in every aspect of your vacation. If something goes wrong, you are not left on your own to fix it (like many places).
Disney will help you to continue to have a magical vacation. For example, when someone accidentally closed a door on my niece’s foot, the cast member went to the gift shop to buy her a stuffed animal and sat and talked with her for 30 minutes. That is something that, a year later, my niece still talks about.
I cannot think of any other vacation spot where this would happen. Disney cast members are truly magical.
#8. Always Right Next To The Action
Disney resorts are conveniently located to the parks and the action.
For example, the Contemporary resort is just a short walk away from Magic Kingdom. This is especially great when you have a child that still needs to nap in the middle of the day.
When you stay at a Disney hotel, you do not need to worry about navigating a strange area, finding parking or trudging miles through a crowded parking lot. Instead you can travel in style while still saving time and avoiding stress.
#9. Feast On The Disney Dining Plan
The Disney Dining Plan enables guests to prepay for their food so they do not have to worry about paying for each food item they purchase out of pocket.
This is a convenient way to know that your vacation is already paid for and you don’t have to worry about the 10 mickey bars your children want adding up quickly.
Only Disney resort guests have access to this feature.
#10. Includes Complimentary Evening Activities & Amazing Pools
Most resorts offer free evening activities, such as movies by the pool. This can help you extend your magical time well after the parks have closed.
You will also have access to some of Orlando’s best pools. For example, the Beach Club and Yacht Club share a 3-acre waterpark featuring a slide that starts on a pirate ship.
#11. Disney Purchases Delivered Right To Your Room
This is an incredibly convenient feature that allows you to purchase souvenirs at the park and get them delivered directly to your room.
Inevitably your child will want the big bulky toy in the gift shop. Who wants to carry that in the parks all day? Simple let the gift shop know that you would like it delivered to your resort hotel and it will be there in a few hours.
And of course the most important reason…
